IT Audit Manager

Michael Steinhaus is the IT Audit Manager with over 12 years of audit experience. He started at the County as an unpaid intern for the Internal Audit Department in 2011. Then he worked for MGO between 2012 and 2015, performing ACFRs and Single Audits of state and local governments and earning his CPA license. In 2015, he joined the Orange County Auditor-Controller department as an Audit Manager and served as the CAE of the Auditor-Controller’s internal audit function from 2019 to 2024. Michael joined the Internal Audit Department as the IT Audit Manager in 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Accounting) from California State University, Fullerton.
